I found this article over on Gizmodo which details a small bird drone. Conceptually, this is nothing new to the 3 regular viewers of this site. However, what is remarkable about it is how small they've been able to make it, and that it carries its own power source.

The butterfly thing has me freaked. To take something beautiful in nature and pervert it into a tiny fluttering spy, well....it's got me thinking on other reasons for the steep decline in the insect population over the last ten years. Time to go back and consult my John Wyndham manuals, I'm sure he covered insects in one of them. Keep up the good work, the future of humanity depends on it.
